Day One Towards Reformation.
I'm off to go and find some cool post it notes. I am a creative, artsy person, and I have to have some color, or flowers, or some kind of cool pattern on my post it notes.
For my 21 Day Reformation, I have 2 goals,
1. Floss my teeth every day
2. Do not speak words of judgement about myself or others
Now the first one, I hope is attainable, although I never seem to have mastered it, and I feel the shame each time I visit the dentsit.
The second one is a huge undertaking, a mountain, a common problem to mankind. And yet, my heart is filled with excitement, because I know that God is opening a huge window of opportunity for me, and He has clearly shown me that He is going to partner with me on this.
Helen Keller said,
"Unless we form the habit of going to the Bible in bright moments as well as in trouble, we cannot fully respond to its consolations because we lack equilibrium between light and darkness."
There is an undeniable, inestimable power and promise that is found in God's word.
In these next 21 days, we will draw on its power and ask the King of the Universe to manifest His power through our lives, and we will choose. I will choose.
My choice + God's power = Success
We have to choose to listen to His voice, reminding us to be transformed, to be changed into His image.
2 Cor 3:18 says
"And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
Your 21 Days of Transformation may have nothing to do with your inner man, it may be about excersing more, or eating less junk food. This is equally as good. Our bodies carry our spirit's, and they need to be taken care of, so we can function at our higest potential.
Whatever your focus is, do it today, overcome today.
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." - Aristotle
If you create an act, you create a habit. If you create a habit, you create a character. If you create a character, you create a destiny. - Andre Maurois

Cheryl,
Wow. I feel challanged. I am going to join you!
I can't remember my mom EVER saying a negative thing against a person. Isn't that amazing?!! When I would be angry and tell her about a situation and put someone down, she would always reply..."Pray for them, dear!" Oh, how that would infurate me! Now that I am grown and have my own children I would love it if they could say the same about me. God help me to see the positve and to speak out what you see when you look at us and others. May HIS truth set us all free!!
Love,
Holly
Earlier in Feb. I felt God challenge me in some areas of my life - to establish new things for my journey of "change". I will may share some of this BUT at a later time...I'm still in process but have made strides forward!
For the next 21 days I will aspire to yet more "change", with God's help and the help of this Reformation Team!
I just purchased a treadmill - so I would like to establish the habit of using it 5-6 times a week (1/2hr each time). If I don't use the treadmill a half hour walk could be in place of it. I feel better, look better and enjoy life more when I'm physically active.
That's all for now.

God is so Big! He speaks to so many the same themes, though seemingly scattered all over the world!
For me it is physical..I have really felt that I need to take dominion and subdue the flesh. I feel like as my flesh is less and less in control, my Spirit gets to be more. As my spirit is subject to His spirit...I am giving Him more control as I deny my flesh.
I prayed over the Holidays for God to show me what keys I need to obtain and maintain a healthier physical body. I have lost 12 pounds since Florida, and am now back at the gym...so steady she goes...literally! I am eating better, and have more energy that I have ever had....minus a nasty little cold that has tried to take me down.
So, I too will join you ladies (men?), over the next 21 days to receive and give encouragement as we push through the walls that we come against. I am excited to see what God does with each one of us as he continues to purify His bride.
Bless you,
love
Jen
Cheryl,
I hate change!!! And I love it all at the same time.lol I will join this quest. I will have to seek God on what He wants of me. (Please...anything but chocolate Lord!)hehe
Thanks for being so transparent all the way from B.C.!

Hey Beautiful!! I down to about every 2 days on that flossing thing...not so sure on that every day program! I will check in on your 21 day reformation regularly and see how it's going. For me, reformation involves asking God His direction on a daily basis for me.

Cheryl,
As you can see from my last post..I am in!!
#1 is atleast 35 minutes on the treadmill every day...YES..everyday. (the posties are one the treadmill!!) That way I will keep this prego body in control and feel good about me, today and tomorrow.
#2 to remind myself daily how very much God loves me, and why.
This is so great!
Amy
P.s. It's crazy how God works...I have always thought that you are one of the most non-judgemental persons I know and prayed to be more like that myself...and here you are with this....crazy!!
Hi Cheryl
Count me in too. :o) I have been thinking about it ever since I read your "invitation" earlier this evening.
The timing is right on. I am teaching a Ladies group using the book "Becoming a Woman of Freedom" and last night's lesson was specifically dealing with an area I need to improve.
I will pray about it tonight and let you know specific goals tomorrow.
Thanks for "taking the initiative" to share your challenge.
God Bless, Cheryl
